IceSpy System5: Manually Swapping a Sensor

Each IceSpy System5 base can only communicate with 64 channels at a time, these are allocated on a first come first serve basis, which is fine at first, but can eventually lead to a problem when you want to add a sensor later on and there are no channels left available to use.

In order to solve this problem, you can swap a new sensor into a base, by telling the base to communicate with it instead of one of the sensors it is currently communicating with - Even though you have 64 sensors appearing in your base it is unlikely that all of them will be a sensor you are actually using.

To begin, you need to be running "Logger Tools". To get Logger Tools up onto your screen you need to double click the Logger icon in the system tray. If you cannot see the icon, go to Start -> All Programs -> IceSpy System5 -> Logger Tools in order to bring up the correct screen.

Once logger tools is running, you should be presented with a list of the base units within your IceSpy System. You need to double click the unit you wish to add the sensor to.

You will then be presented with 3 lists of sensors, "Active", "Standby" and "Creating". Your new sensor should be in the "Standby" list.

Click "Select Swaps" to enter swap mode.

First, select the new sensor in the standby list.

Then select a sensor to remove from the Active list. Try to pick one with Success "0,0" if possible. Be careful you don't remove a sensor you are using!

Finally, click "Request Swaps".

"Ready for Swapping" should now show the request pending. Leave the program running for 10-20 minutes and this should automatically happen, and will move over to "Recently Swapped" once it has completed.

Once this is done, you can click OK, minimise the Logger Tools program, and continue to configure the sensor using the normal methods!
