The Royal Bournemouth Hospital provides healthcare services to residents in Bournemouth, Dorset and the New Forest. Following three consecutive years as a 3 star performing trust, it gained Foundation status in 2005. The vision for the Royal Bournemouth is to put patients first whilst striving to deliver the best quality healthcare. Nettie Aubury is their Chief Technician with responsibility for pharmacy stores, distribution and procurement.
A Complete Temperature Control Solution
"Following a refurbishment programme and a move to free standing fridges, we wanted a comprehensive system to manage our temperature control and monitoring requirements" explains Nettie. "Ease of use was also very important to us." Isatec recommended Icespy and were appointed as contractor. Since then the system has been extended to many other areas including the stores and dispensary. It is also used for ambient temperature monitoring in a dedicated clinical trials room.
Ease of Use
The Royal Bournemouth also make use of Sensilla.net, a web based data management system provided by Isatec with advanced reporting capabilities. Nettie monitors the data that the system collects on a daily basis. "The system is very easy to use, and I can see what I need to see without getting up from my chair. It's all there on one page, so you can see at a glance what has been going on - it's very visual."
Responsive Service
In the unlikely event of a system issue, it is critical that the problem is resolved as soon as possible. "We had a problem one morning - we contacted Isatec at 1pm and by 3pm they were onsite. As it happened the problem had actually resolved itself before they arrived but it's good to know the back-up is there if required. We have always found Isatec really helpful and supportive."
